Who Am I?

Hello, I am Scott Hardesty, the founder of Tactical Web Design and the lead designer for this unusual but very effective team. I am the one with the overall vision, I meet with our clients and normally the “BIG PICTURE” guy.
I have always been creative. Growing up I found different ways to express my creativity. I was able to be creative with music as a drummer. I also fell in love with Hip Hop and Breakdancing where I ended up teaching dance when I was 16 and then later ended up owning my own DJ company. As I got older I would try to find ways to express my creativity and do things that I would be passionate about. During this time I also joined the Army.
I would say that I had a very exciting and full-filling military career that lasted 26 years. A few years after being in the military I joined a Long Range Surveillance Company in 1995 and was able to receive some amazing training. I went to every school they would send me to. I became an Airborne Ranger in that unit and I would have to say that it was one of the two of best times I had in the military.
The second best time would be when I was activated with another unit and was put in charge of building Camp Atterbury’s public website. They put me with the public affairs office. I teamed up with and a soldier of mine and we created an internet show called Camp Atterbury Television (CATV). We made all kinds of informational videos and was offered creative freedom. This was the catalyst that leads me into building websites, creating fun videos and graphic design.
I started a website design company in 2003, built it to be the most successful design company in the area with over 100 clients and sold it in 2013 to pursue my sports nutrition supplement company. Over the years I continued to build websites for friends.
I moved up to Chicago in 2016. Now in 2019, I have decided to open another website design company to feed my creative urges.
I live in the city of Chicago with my girlfriend of over 3 years. We have 4 french bulldogs (one is a micro influencer @poppystrong_ ) I am part of various military organizations.
  • Inbound University Marketing Professional

  • Dog Lover (we have four French Bulldogs)

  • Father of 3, Grandfather of 3

Yeah, I have issues but I play the part well.

Wait… There’s More!

I would say my favorite project has been the ones that allow me to complete creative freedom. My favorite projects have been this website and my Ranger Nutrition website. I have complete creative control over both. I have had some other favorite projects that I got to do for video. All of these videos are featured on my youtube channel.

  • Bane at 50 (3 episodes)
  • Little Hands (3 episodes)
  • Silky Hike
  • Camp Atterbury Television (50 episodes)

I would say getting my Ranger Tab with the military was right up there with the Bronze Star I earned while serving in Afghanistan (09-10). I had an amazing military career and wouldn’t change it for anything.  I was able to retire the military after 26 years with the rank of Master Sergeant.

I have this unique ability to let my mind see what the website is going to look like in my head while working with a client. Often, I can see it during my initial talk with a client but sometimes the vision will change when I get the information needed to complete the project. I work closely with my team and my customer to ensure we are covering all the features and style our customer wants.

Besides making funny awkward videos and putting them on my facebook and youtube channel?  We have 4 french bulldogs that I love very much.  I enjoy watching dance movies and shows but I am also in many veteran organizations in the Chicago area as well.  I own and operate Ranger Nutrition, a sports nutrition supplement company.  I am in school to become a Personal Fitness Trainer. I am a movie lover and a total car guy.

A couple of times per year I get to travel all over the world as an “International Man of Leisure.”

Some of the veteran organizations I am involved with include:

  • Bunker Labs Alumni
  • Merging Veterans and Players (MVP)
  • Project RELO
  • One Million Fit
  • Lift for the 22
  • Chicago Veterans
  • FitOps

Let’s Get Awkward!
